Jack Findlay

An Australian, Findlay came to Europe in 1958 and in
1967 was fifth in the World Championship on the Mclntyre Matchless he acquired
for £500 in 1963. By 1968 he had become perhaps the most successful and best
private rider in Grand Prix events. In that year he was runner-up on the
Matchless to Agostini in the 500 cc World Championship. He has been a prolific
competitor in the TTs since 1959
and has. ridden a variety of machines on the Island including Norton, Matchless,
AJS, Bultaco, Honda, Aermacchi, Yamaha and Suzuki. He was third in the Junior TT
of 1969, riding Aermacchi, fourth in the Senior of 1970
on a Seeley, and in 1972 in the F750 event he was third on a Suzuki and
in ti Junior was fourth on a Yarnaha. as something of a veteran he won the
Senior TT' in 1973 on the Suzuki.
